Joint Working Group concerned with the Development of a Mechanism for the Implementation of the Provisions of Alternative Sanctions Law Holds a Meeting to Discuss the Developments of the Programme and its Implementation Mechanism

Eng. Ali Ahmed Alderazi, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), held a meeting with members of the joint working group concerned with the development of a mechanism for the implementation of the provisions of Alternative Sanctions Law, with the participation of private sector companies, Mr. Ahmed Alsaloom, NIHR Representative to the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Captain Jassem Al-Dosari, Representative of the Ministry of Interior, in order to discuss the latest developments in the Alternative Sanctions Law and its implementation mechanism, with the participation of private sector companies.

During the meeting, the Group was briefed on the mechanism for registering those who completed their punishment or whose sentences were replaced by alternative sanctions as unemployed in the Ministry of Labour, according to the procedures in force at the Ministry, and the importance of following up the inmate until completing the programme, in addition to coordination with the Ministry of Labour.

The Group also agreed to provide several specialised courses for 4 months, which include training and practice, in cooperation with the institutions in which the convict is registered, where his/her performance will be monitored and assessed during the course term.
